Fine & Straight
Others maybe envious of your silky smooth locks but that probably means that your hair won’t hold a curl no matter how much hairspray is used. Save yourself having lank, dishevelled hair half way through your day and opt for hair up. For a timeless look a sleek, classic bun or chignon will stay neat for the whole day and night. This look doesn’t have to be tight or rigid when backcombed and softly brought back from the face. For an alternative look extensions are a great way to add length and bulk to fine hair so you can go for something different like this beautiful updo I did in the pic opposite.
Fine & Curly
Stay true to yourself on your wedding day and stay away from the straightening irons if you usually wear your hair curly, you want your groom to recognise you walking up the aisle. With the right product and time your fine frizzy curls can be transformed into a smooth mass. I like to enhance this type of hair by curling each individual curl with the end of a curling wand. It takes a while but it’s worth it for the bride to feel like a better version of her usual self.
Short & Wavy
This is a versatile type of hair. It can be smoothed out or kept curly. It’s also good up or down depending on which suits the bride best. This type of hair holds great texture and volume and is great for loose soft updos, like the one I did in the pic below. If your waves have a tendency to frizz out on you and you’re planning your day in this unpredictable climate it’s probably best to get your hair safely up out of the way.

Long Hair
Thick
If you have beautiful long locks show them off. Chances are that if you do have this type of hair that you tend to wear it down a lot of the time anyway. You want to feel comfortable on your wedding day so wear it down. Your hair must be in perfect condition for this option. (Check out my next post for tips on how to prep your hair on the run up to the big day). On the other hand if your long locks are the type that don’t behave themselves by frizzing up and getting in your way, all of that hair makes great bulk for hair up.
Fine
Hair extensions are the best option for a bride with long, fine hair that wants to wear her hair down. There are great clip in options out there now for those that don’t want to commit to bonded ones. Extension hair tends to hold curls quite well giving more options to the bride.
